About the POSH Committee

The POSH Committee at Yuvaguru College of Arts and Science has been established in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, to provide a safe, secure, and respectful campus for every student, faculty member, and staff.

The committee ensures that no member of the college community faces any form of sexual harassment, discrimination, or gender-based violence. It functions with sensitivity, confidentiality, and fairness in addressing all concerns.

Objectives

  • To uphold the dignity of all individuals on campus by preventing sexual harassment.
  • To create awareness on gender equality, mutual respect, and personal safety.
  • To provide a confidential platform for reporting incidents of harassment.
  • To ensure impartial inquiry and take appropriate disciplinary action when needed.
  • To conduct regular sensitization and training programs on gender awareness.

Functions of the POSH Committee

  • Receive and address complaints of sexual harassment from students or staff.
  • Ensure a timely and impartial investigation process.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions to the administration.
  • Conduct awareness workshops and orientation sessions.
  • Submit annual reports on the committee’s activities and outcomes.

Awareness & Training

Regular awareness campaigns, seminars, and workshops are conducted for all students and employees to promote understanding of the POSH Act, 2013, and the importance of mutual respect.
